Accomplishments
Cayce Elementary is a Leader in Me School, where we take time each day to make sure we are meeting the needs of all children at Cayce, not only academically but also emotionally. Teachers plan lessons that help equip students with knowledge and application of the 7 Habits. (The mural below was painted by Michael Geddings with the help of our 5th Grade students class of 2020.)
Cayce Elementary was accepted into the PDS (Professional Development System) with The University of South Carolina in 2019. With this partnership comes extra student teachers, interns, professional development for our staff, and a wealth of resources. Our USC liaison is Dr. Compton-Lilly, she has traveled the world sharing instructional strategies specifically in the area of literacy and is now sharing her knowledge and research with Cayce Elementary.
Cayce Elementary was voted "Best Elementary School" by readers of the Lexington Chronicle in their issue of 2023 Lexington's Best. The admin team attended the gala for winners and accepted this honorable award on behalf of the school and it's families.
