Lexington Two schools will move to eLearning day on Friday, November 11

WEST COLUMBIA, SCWith the potential for higher sustained winds and wind gusts associated with Tropical Storm Nicole, and in an abundance of caution, Lexington Two schools will move to an eLearning day on Friday, November 11.

All after-school activities, programs and athletic events that were scheduled for Friday are canceled or will be rescheduled.  Thursday afternoon’s after-school programs and activities will continue as scheduled.  Thursday evening activities will be canceled or rescheduled; your school will share those details.

The decision to move to an eLearning Day was made after consulting with local, county, and state officials. The latest National Weather Service forecasts include sustained winds, and potential for high wind gusts, that could produce travel conditions that will likely exceed the SC Department of Education’s safe school bus operation guidelines.

Teachers are preparing students for Friday’s eLearning day. You’ll find flyers on eLearning from the Home and our technology help desk here.  Students’ assignments will be posted, and teachers will be available during virtual office hours, as outlined in our eLearning from the Home flyer.

Even as conditions continue to change with this tropical system, the safety of our Lexington Two students, their families, and employees is, as always, our top concern.   Should additional changes be necessary, Lexington Two families will receive updates through district and school websites and social media, as well as our phone and email messaging systems.  Watch local media for storm-related updates as well.

Thank you, and be safe.
